Packers 2015 Draft Review

Sparta Wisconsin News – All the picks are in and the Packers picked an even 4 offensive players, and 4 defensive Players. Here is the breakdown of all the Packers pick’s in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Round 1 Pick 30 Damarious Randall, Cornerback, Arizona State

Round 2 Pick 62 Quinten Rollins, Cornerback, Miami of Ohio

Round 3 Pick 94 Ty Montgomery, Wide Receiver, Stanford

Round 4 Pick 129 Jake Ryan, Inside Linebacker, Michigan

Round 5 Pick 147 Brett Hundley, Quarterback, UCLA

Round 6 Pick 206 Aaron Ripkowski, Fullback, Oklahoma

Round 6 Pick 210 Christian Ringo, Deffensive Lineman, Louisiana, Lafayette

Round 6 Pick 213 Kennard  Backman, Tight End, Alabama Birmingham

Just at first glance I look down the board and I do not see where any of the offensive positions will make a difference from day one unless it is from Ty Montgomery. As I read what the team is expecting from these players nearly every player down the whole board is going to be in some sort of supporting role this year. Even Ty Montgomery is not expected to play wide receiver, but may be put back to receive kick offs.

Damarious Randall played Saftety at Arizona State but nearly everyone who looked at him, including the Packers want to put him into a cornerback role.  Arizona States Coach said that he believed that Randall would have been the best corner on the team but the safety was such a vital piece in their defense they had to put him there.

I guess when you already have a great team it is important to just continue to develop young players and this draft looks like that is what the Packers are trying to do.
